Fundraising

The Phoenix Project is a registered charity founded in 2011 to provide day care services for adults with learning disabilities and autism. Our primary source of income comes from individuals who pay to access our services, which covers the day-to-day running of the centre and the cost of general activities. Any new projects or significant equipment purchases must therefore be funded through additional fundraising.

Any new projects or large equipment purchases need to be fundraised for.

We actively seek grant funding for both core costs and capital projects in support of the continual development of the service we offer. In recent years, grant funding has become an increasingly important part of our fundraising efforts and has enabled us to achieve several significant improvements.
Thanks to the generous support of grant-giving organisations, we were able to install a new accessible kitchen. This has allowed us to offer more cooking sessions and, importantly, enables more of our service users to access the kitchen independently. We have also replaced our conservatory and a moveable partition wall. These improvements ensure that the centre’s main communal spaces remain safe, comfortable, and adaptable for everyone who uses them. Without this generous grant funding, these projects would not have been possible.
We are extremely grateful to the many organisations that have supported us, including WightAid, The Isle of Wight Foundation, The National Lottery Community Fund, The Wolfson Foundation, The Bruce Wake Charitable Trust, and The Garfield Weston Foundation.
Alongside grant funding, we organise several fundraising events throughout the year to support our income, including raffles, craft sales, and our Christmas Bazumble.
Every donation we receive is vital to the delivery of our service and makes a meaningful and direct difference to the lives of the people we support.
Would you like to fundraise for The Phoenix Project? There’s lots of different ways you can help us to raise money. You could hold a cake sale or auction, take part in a sponsored run, walk or cycle or even skydive! We can support you with sponsor forms, logos and help with advertising. Please get in touch if you have an idea.
