Autism Suite
The Snug is The Phoenix Project’s specialist autism suite. This purposely designed unit is equipped to support those individuals whose autism affects them in all areas of their life. Individuals are supported on a 1-1 or 1-2 basis where necessary by our specially trained group of staff.
The Snug at The Phoenix Project is our special autism suite
This specialist unit is on the site of our main premises and is close enough to our main building to provide security and support where needed, but far enough away to feel private and discreet. The Snug has its own bathroom, sensory room, and activity space, as well as a dedicated outdoor area. The unit has been designed with the different needs of autistic people in mind and has the space and facilities to allow people to feel comfortable and secure.
Our aim is that this unit could be a stepping stone to further community inclusion for those with complex and challenging needs. We understand that this will mean different things for different people, but by building up rapport, having good routine and allowing the individual to progress at their own pace we hope to support them to develop new skills and experience different opportunities within their local community.
We are currently in the process of becoming accredited by the National Autistic Society. We are committed to the continual development of our service and to creating inclusive spaces for autistic people in our community.
