Welcome to The Phoenix Project (IOW)

The Phoenix Project (IOW) provides a supportive, engaging service for adults with learning disabilities, offering meaningful opportunities to take part in a wide range of activities tailored to each individual’s needs, interests, and goals.
The Phoenix Project (IOW) was established in June 2011 and has continued to grow into a valued and trusted part of the local community.
We are a friendly, vibrant and sociable community where people can build friendships, develop new skills, and enjoy both centre-based and community activities. Every day at The Phoenix Project is shaped around the people who attend — ensuring experiences are purposeful, enjoyable and empowering.

A Truly Person-Centred Approach

We pride ourselves on being fully inclusive and 100% person-centred. Promoting independence is at the heart of everything we do. We actively encourage individuals to take part in decisions about their own support and to contribute to the ongoing development of The Phoenix Project as a whole. By nurturing confidence, choice and responsibility, we help people achieve their goals

The Phoenix Project operates from two bases on the Isle of Wight:

The Phoenix Centre

Located on the outskirts of Ryde, our fully accessible building is set within spacious grounds, providing a safe, welcoming and comfortable environment for a wide variety of activities and social opportunities.

Wood 'N' Things

Our dedicated woodworking department offers hands-on training and skill development in a fully operational workshop setting. Service users design and create high-quality products such as benches, planters and seasonal items, which are then sold to the general public. This not only builds practical skills but also fosters pride, achievement and real-world experience.
